In order to use Diiva, you'll need access to a news server. Most Internet service providers provide a news server for their subscribers; if you don't know your news server address, contact your service provider.

If your provider doesn't have a news server, or if it censors binary newsgroups, you can purchase access to a commercial news server such as SuperNews.

News Server

Enter your news server address in the top part of the News Server preferences dialog. Generally, if you use your ISP's news server, you don't need to enter a username and password. If you purchase access to a third-party news server, you'll probably be given a username and password, which you should enter here.

Newsgroups

Using the lower part of the News Server Preferences dialog, you can control which newsgroups are shown in the Network Groups tab of the file browser. You can use standard wildcards, such as * and ? in group names; the *pictures* pattern above will match any groups that have the word pictures in their names. Groups which do not have any articles in them will not be shown in the group list.
